06 - Concentration Camps: What Are We Doing? w/ Carlos
Sunday Jul 28, 2019
Sunday Jul 28, 2019
Wassup everyone? There's been a lot going on lately so I apologize for missing the Saturday deadline for an episode. I just finished having dinner with my godfather. We were having a conversation around the concentration camps undocumented children are being thrown into. He was trying to break through my shell because quite honestly... I've become desensitized to the atrocities we see on the news every single day. He told me "honestly, I want to get you pissed off." That's when it hit me. I need to do more. We all need to do more as a collective. I spill out a lot of my thoughts surrounding the topics in this mini-solo-sode. I challenge you all to ask yourselves, "What am I doing to help the cause?" Nino asked me this, I wanted to ask you all as well.

**Please me mindful that in this podcast I called a content warning at 36:32. In that segment Angel and I discuss mental health issues specific to suicidal tendencies, depression, and how it influenced her poem titled Testimony. At 53:33 the discussion shifts from the previous serious topics to a discussion about men's mental health, self-love, acknowledging an issue, and working towards stability.**
If you feel as if you are having suicidal tendencies, thoughts, etc. or know someone who may be experiencing these things, please contact a medical/psychological professional. You also may call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255. This podcast intends to present a dialogue between two individuals who deal with mental health issues and should not be used as medical advice whatsoever.
