Race to the Finish is back with Tyra West, host of the High Notes Podcast! Tyra and I went to college together and keep up with each other from time to time. Something we have in common is a curiosity of spirituality that is very close to our hearts. In Exploring Spirituality we discuss what that term means to us, how we have changed through our years in college, and our experiences growing up in organized religion. Our views are no one else's but our own. As a preface all opinions shared in this episode are done with respectful intentions in mind.

This week joining the show is local, young, Black-led organizing coalition Safer Heights to talk to us about how they are addressing police violence and oppression against the Black community in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Join Chance Emad, Tatyana Atkinson, L8Nite, Kalia Johnson, and Phil Bounthisavath as they tell us how their organization has presented demands that will foster a safer Cleveland Heights community.

I know it's a really tough time for a lot of us during this time. For this episode my dear friend Priscilla Flores (she/her/hers), Mental Health Therapist with Community Behavioral Health Center in Beachwood, Ohio, joins me to talk about how we can prioritize our mental health during this pandemic. We dive into how COVID-19 can affect people of marginalized backgrounds and identities with the intention of providing some guidance during this collective trauma.
